Long before "Web 2.0" was murmured, "kutikomiya.com" introduced an interactive site infrustracture and has been widely known. We had an interview with them regarding the background works and their vision towards affiliate.
Need your own moral
──What made you start affilaite business?
In order to own a website, it cost for a server, provider, domain and so on. I started affiliate business thinking that I could cover the cost with affiliate reward.
──Did you consider monthly paid advertisement instead of affiliate?
I thought that it is difficult as the site just started running. Only a big portal site or a site with tremendous access get an offer of monthly advertisement. But with affiliate, a small site like mine is able to offer an advertisement to a target user, we have a chance to receive income. It is easy to see your ability with this affilaite business. Also, the good thing about affiliate business is you can devote to it wholeheartedly, you can introduce products or site from the viewpoint of consumers. In order for me to do that properly, I think I need handpick a product and have to have my own moral.
──Did you have resistance to adult affiliate?
Of course I did. But as I kept maintaining the site, I started to receive thanks message from my users, and little by little, the resistance went away.
──After you started affiliate business, what troubled you more?
Building a site from scratch was the most difficult part. But once a site is made, I could work on it when I want to. Even those who have a full time job, or housewives can do it easily.
──How long did it take for your site to start making money?
When I started, I just kept trying and trying. It is when I realized that I need to understand user's point of view when I cleared the first wall. I renewed a site in terms of users, the sales started to go up. Needless to say, I studied a lot about website.
Enjoy towards purpose
──What is the most successful technic?
I think it is that I changed it to an interactive site. Also, originality is one of the most important factor to make the site different from others. By making it interactive, I was able to get the group of users who hesitated to sign up for an movie distribution site to sign up and sales went up.
──What is the tips for affiliate?
My site is an interactive one on which users can exchange their opinions. I do not want to send my users to the site of which owner has a strange website value. I also picture my site user signing up for a site and purchasing services. Users do not support me anymore if I think that as long as sales is made, everything is ok. User's satisfaction is the most important thing, I think.
──For you, what is affiliate?
It is a tool to enrich my life.
──Could you give some advices to thoese who have already started affliate or who is hesitating to start affiliate.
Those who start affiliate tend to expect high reward. But I consider it is fun just because we can start it without huge investment and you get some reward without risk. I do not want you to forget this kind of joy. First set a small goal and clear them one by one. Then you will find yourself approaching to a bigger goal. Also, to enjoy towards the goal is they key to do it for a long time. I want the other affilaites to do it with joy and expand their possibility.
